Canberra Frontrunners

Yumalundi (yoo-ma-loondi) or Hello in Ngunnawal language! We are the Canberra Frontrunners. An inclusive and diverse running, walking and, where we can, riding group for LGBTQIA+ people and allies in Canberra. We believe in inclusion and diversity through safe and welcoming walks, runs and, where we can, rides.

We are part of a growing nationwide and global network of Frontrunners.

We have been community and volunteer led in Canberra since May 2001.

We meet every Saturday at 9am and welcome people of all abilities to join us. After our walks, runs or rides we encourage people to stay for a coffee or a bite to eat to make new connections.

When we consider routes for runs, walks or rides, and based on wide-ranging feedback, we look to ensure as best we can:
  • It’s accessible
  • It’s easy to get to by public transport
  • You can bring your dog along
  • The location can cater for a large group
  • A place to socialise nearby / coffee / brunch
  • Over the year we offer routes which provide some variety and consistency

You’ll often find us at a location around Lake Burley Griffin, but do check our social media or register for our emails for weekly updates on where we meet. Updates occur mid-week each week and we generally seek to plan out routes for each quarter of the year.

We look forward to welcoming you! Run details are also posted on our socials.
