Mission:

We strive through our events of celebration to strengthen the lives and rights of queer local people. We will achieve these objectives by:

1. organising events of celebration and pride, especially the annual SpringOUT Festival; and

2. providing opportunities to our communities for creative expression and promote the efforts of other LGBTIQ community groups.

Organisational Overview:

SpringOUT is promoted and coordinated by Canberra Pride – a not-for-profit, volunteer and community-based organisation. We aim to support the diverse lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual, intersex and queer communities of Canberra explore, express and promote the life of our combined community through a cultural focus.

We affirm the pride, joy, dignity and identity of our communities and its people through events of celebration. We are committed to serving our community. We seek to enable individuals and groups within our community to discover, express and develop their artistic, cultural and political skills and potential.

Canberra Pride is an Unincorporated Charity, and relies on sponsorship, donations and in-kind support to achieve its goals.

SpringOUT Pride Festival:

The role of the SpringOUT organising committee is to nominate the dates for the festival, promote the dates to stakeholders to participate in the festival and provide a centralised promotion of the events.
