Office of LGBTIQA+ Affairs

The Office of LGBTIQA+ Affairs delivers practical reforms, events and programs to support and strengthen LGBTIQ+ Canberrans. The Office engages with the ACT LGBTIQA+ Ministerial Advisory Council on issues that matter to LGBTIQ+ Canberrans and provides secretariat support to allow the Council to fulfill its role in advising the Chief Minister.

The Office works with all ACT Government Directorates and a range of community-led organisations to deliver the Capital of Equality Strategy and associated Action Plans.

The Office runs the annual Capital of Equality Grants Program to support a range of grassroots projects for LGBTIQA+ Canberrans.
