Hobart Place General Practice was established in the centre of Canberra in 1980.  From its start the practice has been committed to providing high quality care for members of Canberra’s LGBTI community.  Our doctors are keen to work with their patients to optimise their physical and mental health, as well as the relationships they have with partners, spouses, family, friends and society at large.

Certain doctors have expertise in managing drug and alcohol issues and are able to assist with Hepatitis C treatment that can help eliminate the virus.

The practice also specialises in managing HIV and sexual health matters.  Four of our doctors are able to prescribe antiretrovirals used in HIV medicine and are experienced in providing ongoing monitoring and support.

We offer Rapid HIV Testing, which can provide a result in about 30 minutes; please contact one of our nursing staff for more information.
