A Gender Agenda is a peer-based community organisation that works with, and advocates for intersex, transgender and gender diverse people.
Friends, families and allies are an important part of our community.
Our Vision is for a world where intersex, transgender and gender diverse people live without discrimination or fear.
AGA offers social support, information, advocacy and resources along with a regular calendar of events. We also provide training, education and policy advice services to organisations, educational institutions and government, as well as being involved with law reform.
Our Program Calendar has a wide variety of community events ranging from workshops and discussion groups to community dinners and weekly drop-in sessions. We also facilitate regular youth and family’s groups. Through our programs, AGA is able to offer a safe place for members of the intersex, transgender and gender diverse communities in the ACT and surrounding regions to connect.
We offer a number of resources that we regularly provide to services, organisations and individuals.
These resources include our popular ‘Gender Questioning Children’ brochure and our ‘Navigating Diversity’ booklet. We also have a small specialist library for members to utilise.
You can get involved in A Gender Agenda in a lot of ways and we welcome everyone who supports our Vision! By becoming a Member of AGA, you will receive regular updates on activities as well as receive our regular newsletter ‘Happenings’. Whilst we encourage membership, you do not have to be a member to access our services and programs.
There are also volunteer opportunities with AGA. Our volunteers help out doing all sorts of things ranging from setting up for community dinners to running our library. Organisations are also able to show their support for AGA by becoming an organisational ally.
AGA greatly appreciates the support we receive from the ACT Government and our partner organisations.
A Gender Agenda is LGBTIQ.DIRECTORY partner.
