ACT Human Rights Commission

The ACT Human Rights Commission promotes the human rights and welfare of all people living in the ACT. The Commission:

Handles complaints about health services, disability and community services, services for children and young people, occupancy disputes, victims of crime charter of rights complaints, abuse and neglect of vulnerable people and complaints about discrimination. 

  • Supports and advocates for victims of crime.
  • Advises government bodies and other organisations about their human rights obligations.
  • Promotes the human rights and welfare of all people in the ACT. 
  • Advocates for children, young people and adults experiencing vulnerability.
