Office for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs

The Office of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs (ATSIA) is the leader on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs in the ACT Government, and the business unit within the Community Services Directorate that is empowered to monitor and hold business units to account on ‘Closing the Gap’.

The Office provides strategic advice to the Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs on issues affecting Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people living in the ACT.

The Office coordinates a whole-of-government approach to issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents and provides secretariat and administrative support to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body and the United Ngunnawal Elders Council.
